Domain authentication involves a lot of abbreviated terms, such as:
👉 DNS (Domain Name System): this turns domain names that we understand, for example, www.mailerlite.com, into IP addresses, for browsers to understand.
👉 DKIM (DomainKeys Identified Mail): a sender identification tool that is used by email clients (such as Google, Yahoo, and Outlook) to identify and protect from phishing, spoofing and forgery.
👉 SPF (Sender Policy Framework): this indicates which IP addresses and/or hostnames have been authorized to send emails from the specific domain.
But don’t worry if you don’t 100% understand what they mean, we just need to make sure we put the info where it needs to be.
Depending on your hosting provider (the company you purchased your domain from), you may need to contact them for support to add the records, and most likely, they can do it for you (phew, right?). But if you would like to do it yourself, we have guides for Cloudfare, Wix and GoDaddy.
