Happy New Year! 🎉🎆
If you’d ask me what the single most impactful exercise for your productivity, clarity, and motivation I've ever encountered is, I’d say: do an Annual Review.
Now is the perfect time to reflect on what you've learned, celebrate wins and grieve failures, and use the insights that emerge to create a vision and a set of goals for 2024.
An Annual Review takes advantage of the unique moment as one year transitions into the next – a moment when anything is possible, and you can set in motion the projects that will play out over the next 12 months.
I just published my Annual Review including my goals for 2024, which you can read below. And I want to invite you to create one of your own…
Our BASB Facilitator Maria Aldrey will lead a live two-day workshop this weekend, Jan. 13-14, to give you everything you need to succeed in your own customized review, including the most crucial elements: community, accountability, and feedback.
My 2023 Annual Review
The year 2023 felt like a major milestone for me, for several reasons: it's officially 10 years that Forte Labs has been in business, it marked the statistical halfway point of my life, and we now have two kids.
To do this special year justice, my wife and I spent a weekend at an Airbnb in the desert, focused on our annual reviews.
Here's what you'll find in mine:
- Why I dubbed 2023 the "Year of Reinvention"
- Revisiting the different eras of my career
- How I'm resisting the urge to find the "next big thing"
- What goals I am setting for 2024 in my business and personal life
- The open questions I'm grappling with at the moment

That's now possible with Notion's Q&A assistant!
In our latest video, I put Notion Q&A to the test, demonstrate different use cases, and show you what's different compared to other AI tools.
