Our BASB Foundation course just got a major upgrade 🥳
We’re committed to making it the best way to learn how to build a Second Brain so our team spent the last month improving the entire learning experience.
- You now have a BASB Playbook as your official course companion. Think of it as your very own cheat sheet – an invaluable reference, reminding you of the main concepts and lessons learned.
- You can access additional resources within the lessons. These are exclusive guides, articles, and videos to help you fully understand the BASB concepts and put them into practice.
- You’ll find a checkpoint at the end of each module. Before moving forward, take a moment to self-assess your understanding and implementation of the key concepts and practices.
- You’ll notice improved instructions, action steps, and prompts to share your progress so that it’s always crystal clear what you should do next.
Remember, you can try BASB Foundation risk-free with our 30-day money-back guarantee.
How to Get Honest Feedback
One of the most powerful ways we learn and improve is by sharing our work with others. But how do you actually get candid, useful feedback?
By sharing your work-in-progress instead of almost-finished deliverables.
Here's why:
Just imagine you're being asked to give feedback on a piece of work. If it's nearly finished and your friend has clearly put in a lot of time and effort already, you'll be less likely to point out big flaws. You'll feel compelled to "be nice."
However, if you're told that you're looking at an early, messy draft, you can share your honest thoughts more freely since it's not too late for them to change directions.
Here's my challenge for you: What are you currently putting off sharing because it's not perfect yet that would benefit from some raw feedback? Can you share it today with someone?

Master Your Nervous System
"We don't actually experience the world—instead we filter reality through the state of our nervous system."
As a self-development nerd, this sentence from my friend Jonny Miller had me perk up. The nervous system is essentially our body's command center, controlling our voluntary and involuntary actions as well as our ability to process information.
I don't know about you, but I was never taught how our nervous system actually works... let alone that I could learn to consciously control it.
I experienced the power of such training last year when Jonny was in California and generously offered to do a breathwork session for my wife Lauren and me. In about 90 minutes he led us through one of the most profound and fastest-acting experiences I've had, giving me an incredible sense of clarity and groundedness for the whole rest of the week.
Jonny is now running the fifth cohort of Nervous System Mastery – a five-week course that will equip you with evidence-backed protocols to cultivate greater calm and agency over your internal state. You will learn how to rewire maladaptive stress responses, increase your capacity for focus, and improve the quality of your sleep.
Over 750 students have learned how to rewire their stress response through this training already (including some of our team members).
Exclusive for our newsletter subscribers, you can use the code FORTE to save $250 on enrolment. The spring cohort runs from March 25th — April 26th.

Thank you to Jonny Miller for sponsoring this newsletter.
Book Recommendation: Tripping On Utopia
I recently picked up this new book about how the history of modern anthropology (via Margaret Mead) intersected with the rise of psychedelics to powerfully shape (among other things) the way we think about and use technology.
I love these unexpected, intersectional stories of how our world came to be.
Check it out here.
