No images? Click here Christmas might still feel a little way off, but the next few months have a habit of flying by. So, if you’re thinking about spending it somewhere a little different this year, now’s a good time to start making plans. A big family get-together, a few quiet days by the coast or just the two of you (and the dog) – there are plenty of lovely cottages across Cornwall to choose from. Spend Christmas overlooking the sea at Puckey Hill, with room for six and wonderful views across Portloe. The garden room is a great spot to sit and take it all in, while the coast path is close by when you fancy wrapping up and heading out. Tucked away in a quiet West Cornwall hamlet, Sparrow’s Nest puts you within easy reach of Mousehole at one of the loveliest times of year to visit. Head down to see the famous Christmas lights, explore the coast or wander up to the pub at Paul. With exposed beams, vaulted ceilings and a big open-plan living space upstairs, Trotters has just the right feel for a Christmas get-together. It sleeps six, with Porthtowan and St Agnes close by when you fancy some fresh sea air. For a quieter few days over Christmas, The Old Post Office is a charming traditional cottage tucked away just outside Wadebridge. There are woodland walks close by, with Wadebridge just down the road and Padstow within easy reach too. Made for two, Lowen Lodge is a lovely spot for spending Christmas on the North Cornwall coast, with Rock and Polzeath close by. Head out for a walk, take the ferry across to Padstow or enjoy a good pub lunch, before heading home to light the woodburner and settle in for the evening.
