Hello there,It has been one month and three days since Food is a Feeling came out, and this post—which I started writing on an Amtrak train from Washington, D.C. to NYC in a backwards-facing seat—has been sitting in my drafts for most of that time. I have a hard time posting a newsletter when I feel like I’ve let my readers down. I feel the need to apologize, I want to make up for my absence, I am mad at myself about screwing up my “content calendar.” Paralysis sets in. This is exactly what it feels like to start working out again when I’ve been a bad gym bro. If you stay ready, you don’t have to get ready—as the old adage goes. The inverse—if you’ve been gone, you have to come back—is also true. When I returned to the gym post-tour, I was sore in an immobilizing way for the several day(s). At least I went! At least I’m writing! Thank you there, Philadelphia, D.C., Detroit, Chicago, Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Austin for coming to the tour events. If I met you in any of those cities, drop a 💟 in the comments so I know you’re here. Today, I’m sharing links to the interviews, essay excerpts, and recipes that have been published since FIAF came out. All of these recipes are linked below:
